Modeling the esophageal adenocarcinoma microenvironment under dynamic flow within the MIVO® cancer-on-chip platform

Standard 3D models often fall short because they lack the dynamic nature of a real tumor. To truly mimic the esophageal adenocarcinoma microenvironment, we must account for the essential role of interstitial flow and nutrient transport.

Together with PromoCell, we have developed a physiologically relevant model using the MIVO® cancer-on-chip approach.
By combining the dynamic perfusion capabilities of MIVO® with the specialized 3D Tumorsphere Medium XF from PromoCell, we have created a system that overcomes the growth limitations of traditional static models.
Key highlights you will find in this application note:

  • Enhanced Viability: How dynamic culture leads to larger and more stable spheroids.
  • Advanced Modeling: Recreating the complex interactions of the tumor microenvironment.
  • Translational Impact: New possibilities for mechanistic studies and predictive drug testing
