Targeted drug delibery with erythrocyte-derived nanovescicles in an organ-on-chip tumor model
Current cancer therapies primarly target cancer cells but often cause significant damage to hearlthy tissues. Extracellular vescicles (EVs) have emerged as next-generation drug delivery platforms.
We propose an innovative approach utilizing Nanoerythrosomes (NanoEs), artificial erythrocyte-derived vescicles, functionalized with a peptide targeting the tumor-specific EDB-fubronectin, by copper-free click chemistry, and loaded with Paclitaxel (PTX) via sonification.
