React4life in the global news

Welcome on board Fabiana!

She joined the finance team in November. Two months are passed and we asked her some questions which she answered with a hint of shyness. We present Fabiana, our accountant. 1) Fabiana, first of all, welcome on board! Tell us about yourself. Thanks! I am a quiet person, but at the same time pro-active. I have been doing this job for 15 years, but it never bored me, I always try to learn new and stimulating things. Also for this reason, I chose to start this new path together with React4life, whose first impression was that of an innovative [...]

“Femininity without compromise. Innovation is never conventional”, the editorial project that involved our founder Silvia Scaglione.

"Innovation is never conventional". It is with this slogan that Pasqua Vini, a historic Veronese winery specializing in the production of quality Venetian and Italian wines, has built a project to pay homage to 33 innovative women who have changed the rules of the game in the world of innovation. Among these 33 women also our Chief Scientist Offer and Founder Silvia Scaglione. The project was born "to promote the empowerment of women and spread the knowledge of talent. A journey into the feminine dimension of innovation, told with the passionate gaze of researchers, entrepreneurs, artists, startuppers and many [...]

The challenge of the cosmetics industry: discovering compounds that block pollutants in contact with the skin.

Scientific research shows that polluting particles are extremely fine and highly dangerous. Our test allows to quantify the percentage of particulate passes through the skin model to determine the protective factor of the cosmetic compound. We call it "antipollution test": it is fast, innovative and effective. Air pollution can cause serious health problems, especially when the exposure to certain pollutants occurs for a prolonged period of time. According to the World Health Organization, the concentration of pollutants in the air significantly exceeds the recommended limits, and it is the cause of millions of deaths worldwide - /en/, while [...]

Reducing the time and cost of screening for new compounds and limiting the number of animals used in in-vivo tests is the future of drug discovery.

Cristina Degrassi, CEO of MTTLab, tells us about her experience with React4life which led to the publication of the paper on Altex: "3D fluid-dynamic ovarian cancer model resembling systemic drug administration for efficacy assay". The ability to control drugs quickly and efficiently with a more accurate preclinical tumor model is of great importance in drug development, as the tests used still have severe problems and poor predictivity. Considering the limitations of animal experiments to predict human response and the high need for new drugs, it is necessary to include highly reproducible human systemic tumor models in preclinical analyzes to [...]

MIVO® and intestinal permeability, a perfect combination to study the absorption mechanism and the biological effects of drugs and food compounds

MIVO®  technology has made possible the implementation of a fluidic 3D in vitro model of the intestinal barrier. In this article it is demonstrated that MIVO®, combined with a 3D intestinal epithelium model, allows to emulate the intestinal environment in vitro, as a reliable platform for the study of the passage of molecules, discriminating the two main intestinal absorption mechanisms. This platform therefore can be employed for the quantification of the absorption of oral drugs. The intestinal epithelium has a well-organized cellular structure, with different cellular phenotypes and barrier properties that make it effective against the excessive absorption of [...]
